NAME: Astoria Elizabeth (Greengrass) Malfoy
AGE: 23
BIRTHDAY: February 23, 1982
BLOODLINE: Pureblood
SEXUALITY: Heterosexual
AFFILIATION: During the war, she was considered too young for her opinion to matter. As it were, she believes that purebloods should be given the proper respect that they deserve and should not have to cower away from the Muggles. That being said, she also feels that Voldemort's approach was certainly the wrong way to go about implementing that change. Leave it to a man to complicate things far more than what is actually necessary.
NATIONALITY: British/French
FAMILY MEMBERS: Anthony Greengrass (father), Elizabeth Greengrass (mother), Daphne Greengrass (Older Sister)

HOGWARTS HOUSE: Slytherin

PERSONAL HISTORY: Astoria was born into a household that held blood purity in high regard. Naturally, this attitude has filtered down to be incorporated into her own personality and way of life. She’s always been told that Purebloods were not to act in the same manner as Muggles and Muggleborns. That respect would be earned by being above them.

When Voldemort returned, she was saved from having to make her allegiances known, being too young to be considered useful in the entire conflict. Being able to sit out and watch the issue develop around her, Astoria was able to critique both sides. While she felt that the Wizarding world in general was not stressing the importance of preventing magic from the continuous dilution, she also felt that Voldemort was going about things in completely wrong.

Despite the ongoing war, her years at Hogwarts were relatively uneventful. She went to classes, did her homework, went to Hogsmeade, and paid attention to what was happening around her. Having a sister who was two years older than her allowed her a greater access to not only information but access to different social circles within the Slytherin House. She knew most of the individuals in the years above her, but for the most part she remained within her own circle of friends.

In her third year, she found herself quite surprised when she stumbled upon none other than Draco Malfoy in the back corner of the library. He had been occupying what she had come to consider as ‘her table. Not being one to change what she wanted, she had politely asked to use the opposite end of the table. Given the close confines, it had seemed logical to ask for clarification on a point stated in one of her texts, which in turn had led to a rather interesting debate between them.

After their initial experience they formed a sort of intellectual pairing. If she had a question about something, she would normally pen a short letter to Draco asking for his opinion. It wasn’t a complicated or overly deep connection, but she enjoyed having someone to talk to in regards to some of the concepts she had been pondering on her own. There talks, on occasion, had crossed into meetings in Diagon Alley or Hogsmeade. Sometimes parchment and pen was simply not enough to convey a particular point of view.

After her graduation in June of 2000, Draco moved their platonic relationship into slightly more serious territory. Given her preference for the traditional, she was impressed by the courting process he used. The idea of tradition was important to her and it went a long way for him to acknowledge that. By the fall of the same year, the two had moved to dating status. Over the years, there have been some rough patches, like all relationships have, but it has been relatively nice.

Shortly after they started dating, Astoria moved into her own flat on the West end of London. She wanted to develop her own independence. She didn’t want to go from her father’s house to her husband’s house. That was one aspect of the traditional role that she despised. That being said, she has spent time at Draco’s flat, not feeling as though that would be inappropriate. He was someone she was familiar with and fully trusted.

The two of them spent several years dating, each had their own demons to face before they could even consider marriage. It wasn't until 2004 that the two finally tied the knot in a lovely ceremony at Malfoy Manor. Over the past year, she's taken to her role as a wife like a moth to the flame. That being said, she certainly isn't at Draco's beck and call. If pushed past her limit, she is still quite feisty and Draco nows full well what happens when he oversteps a boundary.

PERSONALITY: Astoria has a very complex personality. On one side she has the Pureblood elite that has been slowly being built over the years of not only formal but also informal education. On the other hand she’s simply an ordinary girl who wants the same things everyone else does.

For Astoria, the behaviours expected of her are always on the forefront of her mind and are strongly enforced when she is in the public atmosphere. Having grown up in a household that valued proper manners, Astoria knows when to speak, when not to speak, and how exactly one greets a guest. The majority of the time, she’s is used to speaking only when spoken to. Her personality seems quite soft and many have the opinion that she plays the dutiful role of wife/daughter.

While this is true, there is much more to her personality that she does not permit the general public to know. Despite keeping the quiet and meek personality when surrounded by others, Astoria has quite the temper if you can provoke it out of her, and can be down right scary when she has to be.

The finally characteristic to note is her love for music. It runs through many aspects of her life. When they have children the only thing she is insistent on is that they learn to play an instrument. For her music has offered her so much joy in her life and she doesn't want her children to miss out on that.

APPEARANCE: Astoria has always been small, like her mother, with an almost delicate look to her. Even now at the age of 21, she still only reaches her father’s shoulders, standing at 5 feet, 6 inches. Despite this small and delicate appearance, she is quite the contrary. After years of playing the piano her posture needs little improvement and an impeccable manner or dress has been firmly installed into her.

Astoria has always had long, pale blond hair. For the most part she likes to keep it down and free from any sort of ornaments, but knows the proper occasions to have it pulled back. For her, this aspect of her physical appearance is her security blanket. When she’s nervous she’ll twist the ends around her index finger. When she’s angry or frustrated she’ll tug lightly at the ends, and if she simply needs to relax, you can usually find her in her room running a brush through it.

Her mother has always been what she would consider one of the more traditional of Purebloods. She grew up learning and memorizing (what her mother considered) was the proper behaviours for a woman of Astoria’s status. This aspect of her education can be seen in the very way that she holds herself when in the company of others, which can be (and often is) mistaken for a snooty attitude.

FEARS/BOGGART: Living under the rule of Muggles/An image of herself without magic/ Draco dead

PATRONUS: Swan
